The third sunday of the month of November is the Feast of Christ the King and it is that time of the year when people flock to Tagum City to celebrate the feast of Christ the King. 12 years in the making
Last sunday, we were invited by my good friend Sharon to their house in Tagum City. Good thing my mother and father tagged along. It was an hour drive from Davao City. Much faster compared to taking a bus - it stops and picks up passengers often, making the trip last for about an hour and 30 mins or more.
Anyhow, we arrived at the city at around past 11am. Too early for lunch huh? Well my brother had to reformat the PC of Sharon so we were pretty much right on time. We were the early birds and first visitors to arrive. But I am not a visitor to that house anymore.. LOL! Stayed there for 2 years when Sha and I used to have a business in Tagum.
After lunch, my father wanted to roam around the city, so we left my brother who was still installing softwares. We went to the the new Christ the King Church in Sobrecary St. This is my first time to visit the place. We used to just attend mass at the old church while I stayed there. (Sharons mother in law was the choir conductor of the old church).
I was amazed at how big the structure was. I already know it was big but haven't really seen it. Below are some of the picts that I have taken. (click on the pic for a larger view)
Several houses in the city had their own little parties, so a lot of pigs were massacred that day! lol! I caught one guy roasting a pig at the back of the church compound.
Another thing that I noticed in Tagum was the color of their tricycles. All their tricycles are colored green! It was something new that Mayor Rey Uy implemented for uniformity.
