This Sign Inside the Rest Rooms of SM Davao

I have long been bothered by this sign that is posted inside the cubicles of the ladies rest room at SM Davao Mall... I was just wondering if people do really pay attention to it or they just do not bother at all coz it has been there for years and nobody from the SM management ever bothered to change it. The last time I used the rest room, I took the liberty of taking a picture of this sign to let people know what I'm talking about.. and here it is:

I believe the right way of saying it would be: "Please dispose off your used tissue and/or feminine hygiene products in the trash bin" or "Please dispose your used tissue and/or feminine hygiene products in the trash bin". Attention SM Davao management.. please make the corrections...

Pampering Myself

We work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week and we do need to do something to pamper ourselves from time to time. It's our hard-earned money anyway. A wise man saves for a rainy day, but a wiser man knows how to save and pamper himself as well. It has been my habit to really put in some savings to my bank account but I also see to it that I don't deprive myself of the things that I crave for. Whether it has to be food, clothing, entertainment, or relaxation. I would not want to wake up one day regretting why I never did this or why I never bought that for myself.

Every time there is a big sale in the malls, I make an effort to go there and just look around and see whether I'll like something, if I don't see anything nice then I just go home with nothing but a full tummy. The last time I went to a mall sale was during the Labor day Sale at SM mall and I really went home happy. First I saw a really beautiful dress ( it's a tube and shorts combi) and when I saw it on the mannequin I just really fell in love with it. It was not included among the items on sale, but what the heck even if the price is kinda high I just have to buy it especially after trying it out in the fitting room. Second, I was with my mother so it was bonding time for us and I was also able to buy her a bag. Third, we won some gift certificates from Mang Inasal and Chikkies and Patties as we were about to head home. What luck huh?

Here's a picture of me wearing that dress that I bought with some of my officemates in a party last week:

Well they said attire was black and white. Black is certainly out coz my parents have always restricted us from wearing black... it's a Chinese tradition. White? errr would not want to wear a white shirt and look plain.. but would not also want to wear my long sleeves.. hahaha! hindi tayo mag rereport sa office noh.. napaka formal naman if I'll wear long sleeves. So I decided to wear my red dress. Well I'm not the only one who is not wearing anything black or white... from this group pic below you will see there is 4 of us.. and that does not include those from the morning shift who also did not wear black or white..

Are Speakers Dangerous to Our PC Monitors?

About two weeks ago, my PC's monitor got busted. For 4 years my PC has never experienced any problems, until that moment when there was a sudden power fluctuation and my PC was switched off. It was past 9 in the morning and I just came from work so I decided not to turn it back on. When I woke up in the afternoon, I was shocked to learn that my monitor had would no longer switch on.

The following day I made calls to some computer shops, asking if they ever do repairs of monitors. Since I had to sleep in the morning, my mother volunteered to bring the monitor to Computer World for me. The afternoon of the following day, my mother got a call from computer world telling her that my monitor was done and the damage was only minor. They charged me P30 for the resistor and P500 for the labor. The wrong thing that my mother did was she volunteered to claim the monitor without telling me coz I was sound asleep. When I woke up, the monitor was already there, but when I turned it on, I was disgusted to see the color produced by my monitor. I could not believe that the technician released the monitor when it was obvious there was a problem with the color. I tried adjusting the color but it was not able to fix it.

The following day I went to the shop, to talk to the technician to ask him if he did not notice there was something wrong with the color of my monitor. He even proudly said that they tested it before releasing it.. well if they tested it, then as a technician he must be aware that the color needs to be fixed. Since there was a 1 month warranty for the job they did, I had to let them do a back job on it.

When I claimed my monitor the day after, I talked to another technician who did the repair for the color and I asked him what happened. He asked me if my speakers were placed near my monitor and I replied yes I have it placed on the sides. He told me not to place it there since the magnet of the speakers can damage the color of the monitor... hmmmm I stopped to think.. then I replied.. but my monitor did not have problems with the color not until I had it repaired here... then he only told me.. just remove your speakers and place them away from your monitor.

That night I went out with a friend and I told her about my pc monitor and that magnet thing, to which she laughed. She told me that they once had their television repaired coz of color problems and she and her husband kept laughing coz the repairman used a magnet to fix it! what??? She even demonstrated how the repairman stroked the magnet in front of their TV several times until the color was back to normal.. now that is quite confusing... which is which? was the technician telling me the truth? hmmmm......
