Funny UST scandal.avi.exe Virus

Last night, at around 7 in the evening, I went online.. When I signed in to my YM ID, there was an add pending request from our office Admin assitant which i denied, coz she was already added to my official YM id for the office. I logged in to my office YM ID to send her a message not to add me anymore in my other YM ID coz it is for personal use only.

I clicked on her name to send her a message.. I was still typing the words "hello mam.." when all of a sudden my cursor went out of control! it was moving so fast that I cannot control it and it typed in a messaged and automatically sent it to Mam Mai's YM. So the messaged sent to her was "hello mam..open dis ganda nakakatawa".. then I heard a buzz.. and it went to my YM main window and changed my status to "sino gusto funny scandal ust pm nio ko".. then all the active windows were minimized.

Good thing I was very quick to react and I use dial up connection.. coz when I opened my chat window with Mam Mai, it was sending her a file called "Funny UST scandal.avi.exe" which I immediately cancelled. Mam Mai replied to my message thinking it was me who wrote it and sent it.. she told me "hala,, bka maMemohan tyo nyan.. scandal kamo?".. I apologized quickly and told her it was not me who sent the message. My PC just went out of control.

Before things get out of control, i called my brother and told him my pc has a virus!!! When he checked it, he cannot access the task manager, nor the registry! OMG!!! I wanted to freak out! Ever since i purchased my PC I have never reformatted it coz i have been really very careful at opening sites and downloading files.

So what my brother restarted the pc and ran it on safe mode. He inserted his flash disk which has a Dr.Web antivir which he used to search for the virus. The virus immediately penetrated his flask disk. The virus was a win32.hllw.autorunner.857. Good thing the Dr.Web antivir was able to fix it. My brother also removed the virus from the registry and my PC is now back to normal.. no reformat needed..phew!

I am just wondering where that virus came from. I never downloaded such file. Could it be from the flash disk that I use in the office which I also use in my pc at home? One thing is for sure.. the person who made this virus is a Filipino! Grrrr... I wonder if it makes them feel fulfilled when people freak out because they get their PCs infected with that virus! A Thief in Disguise

Last night, while on my way to work, I was riding a jeepney bound for Toril. Scared of the recent news on jeepney holp-ups, I have been very keen every time I ride a jeepney whenever I go to work at night. The moment I rode that jeepney and I saw the face of that male passenger in front of me, I sensed there was something wrong with this guy. So I decided to secretly keep a close watch on him.

There was something with the way he looked and the way he moves. Somewhere near Ecoland, the jeepney stopped on a red light and a female passenger handed over her fare. Since that guy was seated somewhere in the middle, he reached for the coins handed by the passenger. What bothered me was he did not give it to the driver! I just observed him.. maybe he was just waiting for the driver who was also giving the change for the fare of another passenger.

But after several minutes, he still kept those coins in his hand and he slowly placed the coins inside his pocket. Darn! Then another passenger handed his fare but this time the guy handed a P50 bill. He had no choice but to hand it to the driver. Then another guy paid a fare, and I was looking closely at his hand. He was very quick to keep some coins for himself and handed the rest to the driver. Omg! Is the driver not counting the fare? Why is he not complaining? This guy is stealing his income!

I thought of telling the driver about what the guy is doing, but I was also scared the guy might hurt me or might come down the jeepney the moment I arrive at my destination and he might hurt me. So I decided to keep quiet and told myself I will definitely not hand my fare to him.. he is not seated on my row anyway.

But guess what?! When I arrived at my destination, another passenger was also going down and handed his fare and that guy was very quick to grab his fare. I handed my fare to another person but that thief was quick to get mine too!! grrrr! Shame on him! Before I stepped down the jeepney I still saw him again getting some coins from the fare that the guy and I paid for.

This thief has a big body, he looks healthy too.. why can't he just try and work and earn a decent income for himself rather than victimizing that poor jeepney driver? I just hate lazy people. People who rely on the easy way to get money. If you want to earn, you must work hard for it.

First Ever Full Body Massage - January 19, 2008

Today, I experienced my first ever full body massage and I really loved it. I have been experiencing back pains and my wrist has also been painful lately because my tasks at work require me to be clicking and clicking on my mouse.

The original plan was for me, Mylene, Lyra, Raquel and Gemini to get a body massage together as soon as we get our salary. But Gemini was not able to wait and went ahead. Raquel had an appointment while Lyra's mom texted her telling her to come home early.

I can no longer postpone the massage to a later date so I told Mylene that we will have our massage after work. I promised to treat her with the P500 referral that I got for referring her to our company.

I was already aware that we would be half naked while we will be given the massage because Mylene already oriented me a few weeks back about it. I was really scared at first with the thought that I would be half naked in a place like that and with only my panty on. But Mylene assured me she also felt the same during her first body massage and that it is completely safe coz the place was dark and there was a curtain to protect us.

Really felt good that for the first time I was able to sleep till past 5pm on a Saturday. I usually wake up at 2 or 3pm on Saturdays, but this time I had a very relaxing sleep.. thanks to that wonderful body massage. Will probably go for another body massage the next time I feel body pains. They say it's not good to frequently get a body massage. Read full post...

Santo Niño Fiesta - January 18, 2007

The third week of January is when the fiesta for the Santo Niño is celebrated in different areas all over the Philippines. Here in Davao, we also had the celebration of the Santo Niño Fiesta at the Shrine of the Holy Infant Jesus of Prague last January 15, and of course several other areas in the city who has the Santo Niño as their Patron Saint also had their own fiesta celebrations... Panacan relocation is one of them.

Our officemate, Majar, lives in Panacan Relocation so when we were off from work this morning, he got endless teasing from his fellow agents to invite us to their fiesta... so in the end we headed to their place. The place is not new to me. I used to come here every Sunday several years ago. This is the place where my departed grandmother used to live. It is where me and my cousins would spend some days of the summer. We love the place coz my grandmother has a little sari2x store, and of course as kids we just love free candies from our grandma.

It is now my cousin who lives in the lot where my grandma used to live. Her old house has also been demolished and a new house was built by my cousin, but I can still clearly remember how that old house looked like.

Back to the fiesta.. wow! the mom of Majar must be shocked to see all 14 of us there: Raquel, Lyra, Mylene, Me, Amy, Michael, Cliff, Wilmer, Ricky, Elton, Erwin, Odrale, Ronald, and Leo. As usual the videoke addicts strike again! We were amazed by the hard bound song book of their videoke player. The boys had drank a few bottles of beer and we were finally able to go home at around 10:30AM. We had to head home or else we would be struggling to stay awake while at work.

Dual Birthday Celebration - January 17, 2007

Majar Villapaz is celebrating his birthday today while Mary Joy Año will be celebrating her birthday on January 20... Two cakes for the two birthday celebrants! Wow the chocolate cake was delicious... should I skip my diet first? hehehehe.. Lately I have been on a diet.. yeahhh you read it right... im on a diet!!! my pants are getting tight and i just have to control what i eat... I have stopped eating junk foods as part of my new years resolution... and I no longer eat breakfast at home before i go to sleep.

What i usually do is eat at 12 midnite or 1am... I would bring some pork meat, chicken meat, kikiam, sandwich or whatever i can think of as long as its not junk food and it has no rice. No more breakfast nor lunch... The next meal i get is in the evening at around 7pm when i eat my dinner.. with also just a little amount of rice .. i hate exercising! and the only way i can think off to loose this excess fat on my tummy is to cut low on carbo.. and i think its working.. hehehe Read full post...

Bonus for the Hardwork - January 8, 2007

Some agents have to go home and work from home because we had a very terrible internet problem last night. This morning, as I was talking to my client towards the end of my shift, he suddenly asked if I had a paypal account. I told him I don't and asked why he was asking if I had one. He told me they plan to pay me a small bonus. I just felt elated after hearing that! My client told me that his son says to tell me he will send $200 later this week. Weeeeeee! I was very thankful to my client and he just said no problem-keep up the good work! I am now reaping the rewards of all the hard work I have done. What a way to start the new year! Read full post...

First Birthday Celebrant for the Year - January 2, 2008

It's the first day of work for this year and we have a birthday celebrant at the office... Ms. Lyra "Lyra Vega" Pichon celebrated her 25th birthday today. As a tradition in the office, the birthday celebrant was treated with a birthday cake coming from the agents. Lyra then invited us for breakfast in her place after work... and since we have videoke addicts with us, they had to belt out some songs before we headed home at around 9:30AM to get some rest.

My Nephew and His Collection of Cars - January 2, 2007

I will be reporting back to work tonight. But this morning, I will have to clean up the toys of my nephew. Have to sort out the old and worn out toys and throw them away. Of course my nephew was keeping a close watch. Complaining every time I would try to get a worn out toy and throw it away coz it might injure him. After finally sorting out his toys, I decided to lay down his collection of cars on our table. He just loves cars! Every time he comes home from the mall he would bring home a new toy car. Doesn't matter if the car is cheap as long as it is a car. He is just over fascinated with cars.

A New Year and A New Beginning - January 1, 2008

After our Media Noche last night, my sister and her family went home while my brother Mark and her wife Glenda stayed. They went home after eating breakfast today. In the afternoon, I went to SM mall with my Mom and Dad. As we were on our way home I convinced my dad that we visit the much talked about People's Park after dinner.

My nephew was very excited when I told him we were going to People's Park. We had a hard time finding a parking space since the place around People's Park was filled with vehicles. We had to go back to Ponciano Street and take a right turn at Bonifacio Street. We finally found a place to park just in front of Apo View Hotel. Tons of people were inside the park and the place was really huge! Well now I can see why so many people are saying the park is overpriced. It is really expensive! Just take a look at the structures and the flooring. Plus the fact that it covered a very large area. Maybe those people who keep saying that this park is overpriced have not seen the entire structure of the park itself.

It was just sad that we had to cut short our stroll in the park. We were not able to really stroll the entire park coz it started to drizzle. My nephew begged me that we stay. We told him we will just come back some other time. But he was already going to cry coz he got disappointed. The time it started to drizzle was also the time that we were near the childrens playground. So i told him ok ok just a few minutes coz you might get sick. His face lightened up and i grabbed his hand and we ran towards the playground, not wasting time coz it might start to rain heavily. Good enough we had just about 15 minutes to let him play in the playground then we hurried home.

The previous year has been fairly good to me. I was able to find a job without really exerting much effort at applying. My resume was spotted at www.bestjobs.ph by Mam Cora. A few weeks after, Mam Cora resigned and I was appointed night shift OIC. After a few months, I had to make a tough decision to choose my client over my position as part-time PM. It's hard to serve two bosses and excel on both, especially now that the number of agents just keep growing and it's getting harder to write unique articles with keywords that i have already written about for several times. I am happy with the decision I made.

I was able to help a friend get employed, was appointed contest adviser to the online game that I play, gained new friends, gained the respect of my fellow agents, earned thru my job, learned how to write seo articles, won 3rd prize for the seo contest, and of course bought myself a new cellphone! (after 4 years) hahaha! Of course I have to thank the Lord for I have been fairly healthy for the past year. Despite the demands of my job to work the graveyard shift, I have been healthy and in fact gaining weight! waaaaaahhhh....

I have also learned some valuable lessons the past year.. being humble and keeping myself grounded despite all the blessings will give me good karma... standing for what I believe is right and fair and speak it out if I have to... not to step on other people's shoes... I have always believed in karma.. what goes around comes around.. I believed in the power of prayer.. Not only to ask for help but also to thank the Lord for every little blessing I get... People may wish to put me down and make me look bad in the eyes of others.. I may be defenseless.... but the Lord will continuously watch over me and will definitely not let things get out of hand.. for He will not let evil succeed over the good. Read full post...

New Years Eve - Dec 31, 2007

While I was cleaning my stuff, I found an old hard bound cook book that i purchased years ago. I remember i bought it for only P100. While i was cleaning it my mom went inside my room and she scanned through the pages and saw a recipe for calamares. We read thru the procedure and it was mentioned that when you dip the squid into the egg then into the bread crumbs, you let it stand for a while before cooking it. Interesting huh? The reason was so that the breadcrumbs would not fall off while you fry them.

So when we prepared the calamares, we followed the recipe and true enough we observed the bread crumbs did not fall off. But it was just scary coz "tumatalsik" ang cooking oil while you are cooking it.

It was the first time that my nephew stayed up for the new year coz i told him not to sleep coz its going to be new year soon! They were teasing him to go to bed but he kept telling them no i won' sleep coz di-i told me its new year already! He was very excited to light up the sparklers that we had. These sparklers were leftovers from the sparklers that my brother purchased in Pagadian City last Dec 2006.

While waiting for 12 midnight, we sang some songs with the karavision player. My brother Mark and his wife Glenda were also here to spend the new year with us. A few minutes before 12 midnight, we went out and played with the sparklers. After consuming all the sparklers, we went inside and ate our media noche. We started the new year with a prayer thanking the Lord for all the blessings He has given to our family and asking for guidance and protection for the New year. Of course everybody started with eating the sweet stuff first, and of course no chicken meat for new year. Read full post...

Last Minute Preparations for Media Noche - Dec 29 and 30 , 2007

My mother does not practice gathering 13 fruits for media noche. But she does believe in having round fruits and some sweets every new year. I was able to watch TV patrol for the past few days and there was a feng shui expert who said that some shrimps, squid, and steamed fish must be included in the media noche meal for good luck and good health. My mother was only able to buy shrimp when she went to bankerohan wet market since the squid and fish were very expensive.

So on that Saturday afternoon, we went to SM to buy ingredients for spaghetti, and some fruits. We used the gift check of my sister. We prefer to buy grapes at SM coz you are free to taste. Unlimited taste test! hahahaha! It was shocking to see how the fruits were prized. Imagine a dole pineapple (a very small one) priced at P54 pesos! whoooaaa!! of course we did not purchase that pineapple and preferred to buy one at Agdao public market the following day. At least we found a good priced squid at SM. The fish we also had to buy at the wet market the following day.

Early sunday morning my mom and I went to Agdao public market to buy fish which we will steam for New year. We had to settle for the Lapu2x which costs a whooping P250/kl. I told my mom its ok its New year anyway and we only eat Lapu2x once in a blue moon. hehehehe... and i volunteered to shoulder the expenses for the squid and fish anyway. Read full post...

Vacation Leave - Dec 26, 2007

My client granted me 3 days vacation leave so I am now making the most out of it. Today, Dec. 26, 2007, my mother is finally back home. I was also glad I was able to wrap the gifts for Totitz, Ariel, Ia, Gio, Amiel, Ahren and my friends Nechie, Sharon and Gina earlier this morning coz I had a little chat with my friend Sharon early this morning and and found out she spent her Christmas at her aunt's place here in Davao. We decided to meet at SM in the afternoon. Gina and her family were also there. Nechie couldn't make it since the poor girl has chicken pox. I just gave my gift for her and Amiel to Gina so her husband Arnel could pick it up at Dencia's.

I was able to go home at almost 12 midnight already.... really trying to make the most of my vacation leave. The following day I went out again. This time only with my best friend Gina. We met at SM.. she was with her sisters, nephews and nieces... her achi Shirley is in Davao for a vacation. I was shocked to see how tall her nieces Misha and Arah are now. When we were still in college these little girls were still in kinder and sometimes Gina would baby sit them. Gosh! Im getting old!

After SM we went home to Dencia's and went up to their room. My bestfriend had a problem with her PC. She took off all the wires and now she does not know where to plug the wires. Ahren grabbed a gum and Gina told her to share it with me. Then he asked me.. "ilan kayo sa bahay nyo?" Not knowing why he asked me, I answered back.. hmm my mama, papa, bro, sis, bro in law and my nephew. While i was enumerating he counted it and gave me 7 gums! wahhhhh!! I said no Ahren! That's too much! Then he replied no its OK.. Ama(chinese term for lola) has lots of gums.. hahaha! kids! But while he was not looking i returned the gums to my friend. I spent the following day resting at home and cleaning my room. Well need to give myself a break and rest. Would not want to get sick during the New year! Read full post...

A Very Merry Christmas - Dec. 25, 2007

My father just bought a kilogram of roasted pig from Joey's lechon and that was what we had for Christmas. My sister, bro in law and nephew came over to eat lunch at the house. Then a few minutes after lunch, there was power interruption. Arrgghh brownout on Christmas! I tried to get a little nap but woke up just a few minutes later and asked them if they wanted to go to SM. My nephew was very excited since I promised him that I would buy him 8 rechargeable batteries for his remote control car. This is also my chance to buy gifts for my other godchildren.

My father preferred to play BINGO so we left him at the bingo hall. We headed to ACE hardware and purchased the rechargeable batteries then immediately proceeded to Toy kingdom. I told my nephew that I will no longer buy him a Christmas gift since I already bought 8 batteries for his remote control car and it was quite expensive. At first he said OK, but the moment we stepped into Toy kingdom and he saw the different toy cars, he started asking me.. is this expensive? can you buy this for me? I remembered he showed me one toy and asked me how much it was, and it was priced at around 200 pesos.. and he told me.. not this one.. that is expensive.. lets look for another one that is cheap. I was amused at how conscious he was at the price of the toy, as if he knows how much the amount 200 pesos is.

He tried to look for small cars, thinking that small cars are cheaper since they are small.. then he saw this match box van type car which has a back door that can be opened.. he would not let go of it.. so i decided to buy it for him.. provided he behaves while i pick some more gifts for the other kids. He sounded like he know so much when I would pick a toy and say i'll give this one to Amiel.. then he would reply.. no he does not like that... maybe you should buy this.. he will like this.. and he does not even know the kids that i am buying the gifts for.

After finally getting a gift for everybody, I invited him to Worlds of Fun. He had so much fun while we were playing different games. The car racing has to be his favorite. He has been addicted to Need for speed lately and would constantly beg me to allow him to play it on my PC. We were supposed to go home already but then my brother texted and said there was still no electricity at home and he does not know how to cook rice using a gas stove. So we decided to eat dinner at Chowking before going home. Good thing the light was already back when we arrived home.

It feels good when you are able to make people happy, especially the kids. After all, I believe Christmas is for kids. It is the time of the year that they look forward to when they would receive lots of gifts from their godparents, parents and relatives. They look forward to the gifts that Santa Claus would bring for them on Christmas eve. I was once a kid.. and was once an innocent victim and looked forward to the gift that Santa would give me for Christmas.

A Week-Long Off from Work - Dec 24, 2007

It is a holiday today coz it is Christmas eve. We are supposed to come back to work on the 26th but I am lucky coz my client granted me the 3 remaining days of the year as my Vacation Leave with pay. Would have much been merrier if I also had a bonus from my client just like Mark.. hahaha!

We attended Mass at Ateneo de Davao University, where we saw the in-laws of my brother, who invited us to their house since we did not prepare anything for Christmas Eve. It was only me, my brother Mike and my father who were left in the house. We stayed at the Sampaga's residence and joined them with the food that they have prepared and went home just a few minutes before 12 midnight.

I went online and greeted some friends and officemates who were online during that time and dozed off to get some rest.

Christmas Party - Dec 22, 2007

It is the first ever Christmas party of the company I am working for. This company started operating in Davao only on May of 2007 and the number of employees as of Dec 2007 is now nearing the hundred mark. The party was held at Waterworld Beach Resort in Toril. It was originally planned to be held at Mergrande but the place was already fully booked so we had to settle for this resort which is just beside Mergrande.

It was my first time to be in this resort and I was quite disappointed with what I saw. The water in their swimming pool was kinda dirty, but I still saw a lot of people sliding their way to the pool. Maybe it's because the place has lacked maintenance. This resort has been around for several years now but I have not actually taken time to visit this place since I have heard of so many stories of people getting involved in accidents with their large slides. I just hope the owner of the resort takes time to renovate the place and make it more appealing or else they will certainly be at a losing end with the new beautiful resorts opening in this city.

Anyway, back to the party.. the program started late coz we had to wait for those who came in late. We started with a buffet dinner and then we were grouped into 6 groups and made to perform a cheer. Me and my fellow night shift agents were group 6 and we prepared a very short cheer. We won 3rd place.. hehehe! There were also parlor games and some agents showcased their singing talents. There was also a bring me game where Raquel and I won 50 pesos each.. thanks to the gray hair that came from me. Then we had the exchange gifts.

After the party, we decided to be near the beach front. Then Melissa, Mylene, Lyra and me played badminton... Mylene was the first to retire, then followed by Lyra.. then Reymund and Vivienne took over their place... After almost 30 mins of playing we had to stop coz we were already sweating all over! Phew! It has been months since I last played badminton and I was really catching my breath especially that we did not have water to drink and the canteen was closed already.. I had to settle for the softdrinks that we had in the party.

The agents were now in little groups and having fun drinking beer. Some were singing while playing the guitar while some were playing cards, and some were just contented at engaging in talks. Melissa was very quick to lie down a hammock, while i sat at a chair beside her. We just stayed there and started chatting. Then I noticed the silly girl is now starting to close her eyes! I kept shaking her hammock to wake her up.. then she told me she was already getting so sleepy so we agreed to go up to the room that was rented. We decided to stay at the boys room where we found Abby and her BF in one bed, and Jay sleeping on another bed. We had to wake up Jay and make him lie on a horizontal position so we could fit in the bed.

Then Wilmer came in and he was very drunk that he just sat on the floor and murmured that he will just sleep on the floor. We told him no! We made him lie down beside us. So basically the 4 of us were able to fit in a bed good for one person. If there is a will there is a way. Then at around past 5am I was awakened by a text message coming from Mam Neth who was looking for me and was staying at the next room. So I went there and went back to the boys room to wake up Melissa so we could transfer to the girls room since There were 2 other morning agents who were already sleeping on the floor.

The other agents ate breakfast at chowking before going home but Melissa and I were not able to join them since we still have to help Mam Neth bring the gifts of those who went home early and those who were not able to attend the party. I was able to arrive home at past 9 in the morning... and guess what I did? Slept the whole day of course!

A Day Full of Events - Dec. 22, 2007

This day is super filled with activities! My mother left for Pagadian City early dawn with my Auntie Luz. So when I got home from work she was no longer at home. I had to doze off early even if it is a Saturday coz I needed to wake up early around past 12 noon to be able to prepare myself, eat lunch and proceed to CAP auditorium to watch my nephew who will perform a dance as part of their school activity.

It was all worth it as my nephew really gave his best, performing with his classmates on stage. When the program ended I had to immediately rush to the office, which was the assembly point for our company Christmas Party at Water World Resort in Toril. While my brother Michael and my father had to go to Ateneo to watch our youngest brother Mark who would be performing with fellow Subdominant7 choir members on a benefit concert for Our Daily Bread and Focalare Children's choir. It was a good thing they captured some of his performance on video using the digital cam of my sister so that me and my mother can watch a it. They have been preparing for this concert since October. It is just sad that it had to fall on the same date with our company Christmas party.

Christmas Shopping - Dec. 15, 2007

Malls are having their midnight sale this day. A good day to shop for gifts for your family, your godchildren and just anybody who you would want to show appreciation to by giving them a gift. Gifts need not be that expensive. What matters is that it comes from the heart. Me and my mother went to NCCC mall Davao to start shopping for Christmas gifts. Why NCCC mall? Well i just like the way they cut-off prices from their items every time they hold promotional discounted "SALE" events. Prices of goods are really very cheap. As we stepped inside the mall, I was amazed by the very large and beautiful Christmas tree that they have and I just can't help but take a picture of the beautiful Christmas tree using my cellphone camera. I took a shot of my mother first, then of course had my shot taken too. But it's a shame my photographer failed to take a good picture and my picture was quite blurry when I downloaded it to my PC.

We were not able to buy all the gifts we needed, but at least we were able to partially buy some gifts, including the gift that my mother will bring to Pagadian City to give to her godchild. She is leaving on Dec. 22 to celebrate Christmas with her family and the birthday of my grandmother whose birthday falls on Christmas day.
